Christmas Deliveries 2021

My shop is based in the UK, items are taking longer to ship with the pandemic, recommended last post dates for Christmas are:
24th November – Overseas Standard
3rd  December – Overseas Fast Shipping
9h December – Kitchenware’s, Hollys Pet Collection and Wreaths for UK as made to order 
17th December – UK standard
22nd December – UK next day delivery
**These are just a rough guide – I can never 100% guarantee delivery on time – please order early to avoid disappointment

How much is delivery of my order to the UK?

All parcels are sent with Royal Mail.

For dresses there are two options for delivery:

First Class Recorded delivery to UK mainland which is included free as standard.


Next day delivery at a charge of £12.00, any additional items at £2.00 per item.

Accessories are shipped within the UK second class, which is included free as standard (can take up to 7 working days) or on next day delivery for £8.00

How much is delivery of my order outside of the UK?

All parcels are sent with Royal Mail.
There are two options for delivery depending on the product.

Dresses are sent via Tracked and Signed for Europe & the USA and Tracked only (as Signed is not an option) for other worldwide destinations.

This is at a cost of £15.00, any additional items at £2.00 per item. Items sent to Europe should arrive within 5 working days, 7 working says to the USA and 10 working days to the rest of the world (shipping times can be longer at busy times of year, such as Christmas, and cannot be 100% guaranteed).

Accessories are shipped standard delivery to worldwide destinations for £4.00 or £10 for International Fast Shipping.

For standard delivery, they can take up to 3 weeks to arrive to all destinations.

For fast shipping they will be sent Tracked and Signed to Europe & the USA and Tracked only (as Signed is not an option) for other worldwide destinations. Items sent to Europe should arrive within 5 working days, 7 working says to the USA and 10 working days to the rest of the world

What about taxes and duties for parcels shipping outside of the UK?

Parcels are in free circulation within the European Union. For any deliveries outside of the EU we can not be held responsible for any local/state taxes or duties required by your country or state.

(Please note: we cannot confirm that the taxes displayed will be 100% correct, however they should give you a rough idea of costs).

Where are items made?
All items are designed and made in the UK. All items are made by seamstresses passionate about UK production, none of our items are produced overseas or in a slave labour setting. Our dresses are produced in our small factory in Scotland, you can read more about it HERE

Our accessories are handmade in our studio in Newquay, Cornwall.

Can items be made to order in a style of my choice?
Please contact us via email to discuss your requirements – many of our styles can be made from different fabric prints to your choice (these items will not be available for immediate dispatch, production time will depend on our current workload and will be discussed via email at your time of contact).

Returns & Exchanges:
If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you are welcome to return it to us for a refund or exchange. The product must be returned in its original condition, if the item is returned damaged or soiled we reserve the right to refuse the exchange.
Please contact us prior to returning your item:

Items made to your specific instructions non returnable (Dresses ordered via our Kickstarter campaigns, Bridesmaid dresses to your choice of fabric / shorter length garments / garments made with different fabric etc).

Items purchased from Instagram, Facebook, Twitter bargain basement sales are none returnable (the social media post will always inform you if this is the case).

Sale rail items purchased at events where changing facilities are made available and unless otherwise discussed are none returnable.

**We recommend sending the parcel recorded as you are responsible for it until it arrives.

For international returns, please ensure to correctly fill out the customs sticker / paperwork to advised the item is a return (your local Post Office will be able to advise on this as it is different for every country / state). If items are not returned as a return, we are liable for customs duties and therefore the parcel will be refused and the exchange not accepted by Silly Old Sea Dog.

Please ensure you return any unwanted items within 14 days of receipt, we have the right to refuse any items after this time-frame.

What methods of payment do you accept?
All online orders are placed via PayPal, you can do this by using your Paypal account or if you do not have an account please choose the option to pay via card once you have been transferred to the Paypal site.

I need my item urgently for an event, would this be possible?
Items can be shipped within the UK on a next day delivery for an additional charge – please choose this option at the checkout. Worldwide accessories can also be shipped in a faster service – please choose this option at the checkout. Worldwide dresses are automatically shipped Tracked and Signed, which is the fastest option available to us.

My Order hasn’t arrived, what should I do?

What are your Gift Voucher Terms & Conditions?

Vouchers are redeemable against any item purchased on our website ( or at Silly Old Sea Dog hosted events. They cannot be used to purchase items from our stockists or on Etsy.

The vouchers must be spent in one transaction, no cash change will be given. Vouchers may be exchanged for goods of a higher price than the face value of the voucher on payment of the difference.

Gift vouchers are non-returnable and non-refundable.

Gift vouchers must be used within 12 months of the purchase date, after this period they will have 0 value.

If any item purchased with a gift card is subsequently exchanged for an item of a lower price or refunded, any money owing will be refunded in gift vouchers.

Gift cards should be treated as cash, Silly Old Sea Dog will not accept liability for lost, stolen or damaged vouchers.

Silly Old Sea Dog reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions of gift vouchers at any time and to take appropriate action, including the cancellation of the vouchers if, in its discretion, it deems such action necessary. This does not affect your legal rights.
