April 23rd and 24th and were off to the Festival of Vintage at York Racecourse, organised by Keeley Harris at Discover Vintage.

We attended the event last year and it was great! So we decided to head back, but this time with a little setting up help from Dad which meant we could have all our stall and changing room out. We set up on the Friday afternoon, before getting a bit of time to head into York, last year we didn’t make it into York as we arrived late for the set up, but this time we were a lot more organised! So we got to see The Shambles – I haven’t been since I was a child, so it was great to see it again!
The great thing about the Festival of Vintage is that everyone dresses up, its so much nicer to go to Vintage events where people make the effort! Over the weekend we saw lots of great outfits, mainly 1940’s and 1950’s and many of you took part in the best dresses competition which was held in the Ebor Stand where Silly old Sea Dog was located.

We were joined by lots of other great reproduction brands in our room including Lady K Loves, Rocket Originals and House of Foxy. In addition there was also a beauty bar, where lots of lovely ladies were getting their hair and make up done. Downstairs there was dancing and music which had everyone entertained all day long!
Next door was full of original vintage clothing and homewares, and there were some great stalls as well as live music and a make do and mend stall where lots of crafts were available to participate in. Outside we were joined by lots of great vintage vehicles, and it was hard to choose a favourite.

Before the event I had been busy making lots of new summer hair flowers, which you all seemed to like, so I will be making more of these for our other summer festivals. Mum had also been busy sewing up lots of scrunchies and hair bows – our scrunchies are not on the website, but you can them at our events.
Our other 2016 events are listed on our Events Page
We cant wait until next years event! Date TBC………….
